What I Help With

  • Attachment trauma and early relational wounds
  • Post-traumatic stress and complex trauma
  • Repeating emotional or relational patterns
  • Difficulties with trust, closeness, or emotional safety
  • Intense emotions such as anxiety, jealousy, or fear of abandonment
  • Conflict that escalates quickly or leads to shutdown

These difficulties often show up most clearly in close relationships, but they can also affect how you feel about yourself, your work, and your ability to cope day to day.

I work with adults who are struggling with emotional distress, trauma, or patterns that feel difficult to understand or manage.

The Type of Therapy I Offer

I offer attachment-focused, evidence-informed psychotherapy that explores how early experiences shape your emotions, relationships, and patterns today.

Therapy is collaborative and helps you better understand your thoughts, feelings, and reactions, especially during moments of stress or emotional intensity.

Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT) is the primary framework that guides my work, supporting a deeper understanding of yourself and others to create more secure, connected relationships.

I also offer...

DBT is a form of evidence based therapy originally meant for BPD but has since been proven to be effective for other diagnoses. DBT gives us tools for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. These tools are in the form of worksheets that we work on during and between sessions. DBT challenges us to re-learn how to communicate, manage intolerances, and structure our perspectives.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

CBT is useful for most diagnoses. It helps us understand the relationship between our thoughts and feelings and behaviors. It challenges us to develop strategies to mitigate depressive cycles and anxious scenarios.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Eclectic Therapy draws from various types of therapy to tailor treatment to each individual’s needs. Our needs change and evolve, so combining different forms of therapy helps us navigate that change.

Eclectic Therapy

Feminist Therapy encourages the therapist and client to sit “at the same level” to reinforce a shared power dynamic. It is rooted in the concept that societal and systemic issues affect our mental health, and it isn’t always “all in our head.”

Feminist Therapy

Motivational Interviewing includes open-ended questions that prompt us to clarify our thoughts and manage feeling “stuck.” It’s particularly helpful when we want to change something but experience difficulty doing so.

Motivational Interviewing

Therapy is primarily offered through secure telehealth for adults located in California.

Sessions are 53 minutes and typically take place weekly. Many people work with me over a longer period of time, often around 12–18 months, depending on individual needs and goals.

In some cases, I’m open to meeting clients for walking sessions in nature in the San Diego area.

What the Process Looks Like

We begin with an initial assessment to understand what’s bringing you in and get a clear picture of your experiences, concerns, and goals for therapy.

Initial Diagnostic Assessment

STEP 01

What To Expect In The Assessment
This is a holistic, diagnostic conversation. I’ll ask questions about your life, relationships, upbringing, culture, health, current stressors, and any past experiences with therapy or psychiatry. The goal is to understand you as a whole person, not just symptoms.
If we move forward, we typically meet weekly for ongoing therapy focused on understanding emotional reactions, identifying patterns, and building greater stability.

The length of therapy varies based on individual needs.

Ongoing Therapy

STEP 02

How I Work With Clients

My approach is honest, direct, and always remaining judgment-free.

I focus on helping you build awareness of your emotional reactions as they happen, especially in moments of stress or conflict. Together, we slow things down, make sense of what’s going on internally, and understand how those reactions show up in your relationships.

I often describe my style as grounded in the three H’s: humor, humility, and honesty.

Therapy should feel like a real, human conversation, where even the uncomfortable or messy parts can be explored openly.

We're a good fit if:

  • You’re an adult based in California

  • You’re looking for individual psychotherapy offered via telehealth

  • You’re seeking private, self-pay therapy rather than using insurance

  • You’re open to honest, insight-based work that goes deeper than surface-level coping strategies

If you’re ready to take the next step, you can book an initial assessment.

If we feel like a good fit, you’re welcome to take the next step.

Booking an assessment gives us space to talk through what’s bringing you in and what you’re hoping for, and to see whether working together feels like a good fit.

There’s no obligation to continue beyond that first session.
